Let it go

“Holding onto a grievance or a resentment is like drinking poison and thinking it will kill your enemy.” – Nelson Mandela

Let it go.

Holding on to it … becoming friends and partners with past hurts?

That’s a burden far heavier on you than the person who first put it there.

We all have baggage; let’s resolve to only have carry-on.

  1. Love that quote. I have to admit, though, I’m not good at letting it go. I guess I should work on that. :( Happy Day to you from balmy, foggy Florida! :)

    • Thank you Caroline; I love that quote, too. I have gotten better at letting go with age .. it takes time. Some things cannot be forgiven but we can diminish the power they have over us.. Happy day to you from icy MI :)

  2. Love your photo. I’m ready for geese to migrate back.

    • Indeed! Me too :) . I took that picture on the family farm in Saskatchewan, Canada; it was a cold November day, I heard a noise in the barnyard, looked up and there they were – wow! Thanks for visiting, MJ

  3. I have geese, lots of geese. But they are trying to stay clear of the predatory birds. Love your quotes. They are so true.

    • Why thank you Miss Rumbley … this is a quote that rings true with me. It’s taken a lot of work but I have let some hurtful people go .. what a relief! Thanks for stopping in today :) MJ

  4. As someone who struggles with letting go of the past, I absolutely adore this post. Thank you.

    • Ms Jaclyn I hear you loud & clear. As a youngster I very passionately carried all my wounds for all to see .. but over time I grew tired of carrying it and realized that those who had inflicted them had long since forgotten so why didn’t I? I know that not all transgressions can be forgiven but, in my experience, as many as you can let go of .. do. Cheers to you :) MJ
