Home shopping and a date with Oscar

So .. I saw my Podiatrist today and while my foot is looking less angry and is healing on schedule, I’m to stay off it and rest until he tells me otherwise.  Next appointment?  2 weeks.  And I thought I’d be back to work in 2 weeks. Not so.

Last week, I struggled to read much less retain anything.  I couldn’t follow a movie to save my life.  Hubbs found me dozing more often than not.  I suppose that’s my body’s way of telling me it needs some down time.

But today, I do notice a slight change, my mind feels sharper, my memory’s better and we’re settling into a routine here at home.    Frankie (the dog) is loving every minute of it.

So tonight, I’ve set a “date” with Oscar (Academy Award movies now available OnDemand through Comcast – yay!) and a Rx-induced home shopping purchase is on its way to me.  Apparently Vicodin made me feel I couldn’t live without “Sheer Cover” makeup as sold on HSN?  Lord knows I have plenty of time to play with it; thank goodness for 30 day return policies.

If I can just stay awake, I will be really pleased.

  1. Glad you are feeling a bit better. I have some of the Sheer Cover make-up (I bought a basic set at the Proactiv counter in our Mall after seeing the infomercial). I really like it, although I only rarely wear makeup. I sweat too much on a daily basis for regular makeup-wearing. Hope you like it!

  2. So is your sheer make-up the mineral kind that needs to be applied with a brush? My fair skin does not like many types of foundation. Have fun with the Oscar movies, although I would avoid “127 Hours” if I were you.

    • Yes indeedy; my skin is fair, too, and I don’t really like liquid foundation. I don’t wear a lot of facial makeup per se but I thought this was intriguing enough to test out. And thanks for the tip on 127 hours :) , MJ

  3. Bless your heart. Glad you are feeling better.

  4. I’m glad you’re recovering well (& still blogging)! Enjoy your time to rest and new make-up :)

  5. Ahhh…welcome back. Glad to hear you are on the mend. I went on an iTunes rampage the other night…don’t know what that was all about. Very obscure ’70s things. Do what the dog…um…doc sez…

    • Thanks Coop; Oh can I relate to the iTunes rampage … although in my case it’s mp3 downloads from Amazon, same diff. Every once in a while, when the mood hits, it just seems like the “thing” to do. Thanks for stopping in :) MJ

  6. I’m so glad you’re making progress! And it sounds like you are filling your time with fun relaxation and pampering. Good for you!
