Boogity, Boogity, Boogity … Amen

I am not a NASCAR viewer on any regular basis but this fervent pre-race prayer by Nashville Pastor Joe Nelms certainly got my attention – and that of many others, too.

Ricky Bobby, is that you?

  1. We missed that one!!! I just played that for my husband – we are laughing right now.
(And I can’t believe he said “my smokin’ hot wife’.)
I bet things are interesting from his pulpit!

    • I thought you and Motor Man would enjoy this!! If you have seen the movie, “Taladega Nights,” you’ll note the nod to it with the words “smokin’ hot wife.” Funny – if not for anything else, he woke up the crowd with that line. I’ll bet his sermons are great fun to listen to :) MJ

  2. I was thinking the same thing, Dianna. Motor Man needs to hear this. Very good one, MJ. I will be playing this for my husband too. Now, I want to know, MJ, how you tripped up against this? :)

    • I read/watch a lot of news in my job and this story bubbbled to the surface last night; when I heard it, I just knew I had to blog about it. I know there will be some who find it “too much,” but anytime a Preacher gets me laughing .. he has my attention. Cheers! MJ

  3. Heard this on the way to work – hilarious!

  4. lol! I am sharing this with my Nascar-loving friend today. We’ve been to a few races and haven’t heard a prayer like this before! :)

  5. I’m from North Carolina – birthplace of Nascar – and you never know what you’re going to get!
