Got a road trip today.
2 hours one way + meeting time where I’m going.
Highways and country roads. Through cities, farms and fields.
Fall’s arrived here in Michigan. There’s a touch of frost on the grass today.
What will I see? A peek of Autumn colors; apple stands, clotheslines and combines heading to the finish line.
Yep, I’ve got a road trip today… and I’m taking a few friends with me: Elvis. Johnny R. Cash. Willie. The Brothers Gibb. Huey Lewis, Tom Petty and Bob Seger. The Supremes, Al Green and the Jackson 5 … and a whole host of others, too.
Cruise with me, baby.
Who’s your favorite to cruise to?

MJ,
Frost already? Wow! Your road trip sounds fun even though you are headed to a meeting. Sure beats staying inside! Maybe you’ll have a chance to send a few pics of your glorious fall colors. October is usually when we get the best leaf watching.
Enjoy,
Renee
Just a smidge! I love to get out of the office and see the countryside and yes – taking my camera. My header today is from a similar trip last September … I am just seeing a teeny bit of color change now.
Cheers, MJ
Enjoy your drive, MJ. I look forward to seeing the pictures.
Thanks, Lenore. I loved the drive and enjoyed a brilliantly bright September day … but … the roads were too busy and/or narrow for me to pull off for pictures. Drat! Next time, MJ
Enjoy….right music….right time of year….did you get my reservation for the ride?
Hop on in, Linda
It was a very nice day for a ride … MJ
Ahhh, crusin’ the highways is still fresh on my mind since I just arrived home from out West a short week ago today! I listened to a buncha different stuff, mostly country music but there were sounds of Bon Jovi, George Thorogood, Foreigner, Van Halen, Sammy Hagar and Journey coming from my rig.
We got a touch of frost too last night (NE Michigan).
Trees are changing here.
Have a blast…sounds like you’ve got good company!
Thank you for sharing your playlist, too,
. I had some Journey on there as well … ooh George Thorogood, haven’t heard him in a long, long time … thanks for the reminder. Trees are just starting to change now here in (lower) West Michigan. MJ
Ooohh, lucky you! I love road trips, and yes, Michigan in the fall is a place of beauty! Actually I thought it was beautiful in all seasons, but fall is probably the best, imho. Hope you find an apple orchard to visit on your way!
You know, I never fully appreciated the fun of driving until I lived in places – the Arctic of Alaska, and now an island with only about 25 miles of paved road from end to end – where distance driving just doesn’t happen. And when you go for a drive here, the options are pretty limited. The scenery is amazing, but the trip is just not long enough to satisfy!
Enjoy your cruise! Sheila
The sweet thing is that I live less than 1/4 mile from a 100 year old orchard and Honeycrisp apples are in this week
. It was a beautiful day for a drive … and I appreciated getting out of the city and seeing some open land. I never thought about your perspective of so little paved roads- wow!!
Thanks, Sheila, MJ
No frost here, yet. But we’re getting thunderstorms and rain tonight! The temp dropped from 91 to 67 from late afternoon into evening.
Hope you enjoyed your trip – looking forward to pics!
Wow that is quite a drop, Dianna!! I didn’t get pictures, unfortunately … but I have several more road trips like this one over the course of the next month and a half and I am sure I will get some photos then. Cheers! MJ
