Thanksgiving is only 2 days away!
Old Dog, Frankie, would like to share what he’s learned in his 11 years of living in a busy holiday-filled home:
- Be nice; greet your guests with gusto. (Everyone gets an enthusiastic sniff hello!)
- Take naps and stretch before rising. (done with flair!)
- Don’t pretend to be something you’re not. (When he’s had enough of the company and confusion, he simply disappears. No feigned interest here).
- On relatives: avoid biting when a simple growl will do. Come to think of it, he’s never growled. He stays close to those he loves and, when he’s had enough, see # 3 above.
- Take naps and stretch before rising. (also done with flair!)
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for each and every one of you!

May you always be blessed
With walls for the wind.
A roof for the rain.
A warm cup o’ tea by the fire.
Laughter to cheer you.
Those you love near you.
And all that your heart might desire.
~Irish Blessing

Oh, Frankie is a cutie! And sounds like he knows his stuff when it comes to dealing with holiday guests. Sundae, on the other hand, won’t leave the room where people are. (She’s afraid she’ll miss something!)
Thank you; he is easily the world’s greatest dog. He’s patient and kind, loyal and loving. He has good manners and knows when to step away. He’s a bit like Sundae, though, he doesn’t want to leave the party but he will quietly slip away when he’s tired or ready to be away from little hands.
Happy Thanksgiving!
MJ
Great advice! Always listen to your dog, is my advice. Loved the Irish Blessing!
Happy, Happy, Thanksgiving to you and them.
… and the heartiest wishes to you back, Linda. Hope you have a happy, hearty day! MJ
Someone said this today, and it struck a cord with me:
Everyone, no matter what their heritage, has reason for being thankful. Happy Thanksgiving, MJ! Frankie is one smart pooch!
Yes, yes, and yes~~ Thank you, Lenore. Happiest Holidays to you & yours

Daughter #2, husband and Zena are here! Three more battery chargers! Zena sends a woof-woof #1 greeting from TX, slowly rises from her nap in the excitement of Dancin’ With the Stars (she’s old – 14) #2 and rest assured she’s the real deal black lab #3. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Eve and holiday!
Fantastic! Your house will be full of battery chargers; love it!! Enjoy your times together and please give Zena an ear scratch for me. Cheers! MJ
Please thank Frankie for the great advice. I really will be taking his #4 to heart this week. He has more strength than me
I will pass it on to him; he’s currently asleep with son # 2 who has the day off from school….. I am not sure which one is snoring louder!
