Ever noticed that what we long for we often get … but not always when we want it?
It finally rained on Thursday here in West Michigan; we enjoyed a nice long day of a slow soaking rain and it was perfection. I swear I heard the plants stretch and say “ahhh.”
I woke up early today, determined to offload the extra water from the pool and clean up the mess the recent showers had created.
The warmth of the sun’s rays enveloped me, even at that wee hour.
To me, sunshine belongs to Saturdays, regardless of the season. But, having said that, there’s something wonderful about a cool rainy Sunday, one that forces me inside.
The sun’s shining today and if you’re looking for me, I’ll be out in it.
You?
“It was like the way you wanted sunshine on Saturdays, or pancakes for breakfast. They just made you feel good.” ~ Sarah Addison Allen

Our weather can’t make up its mind today, sunny, sprinkling, sunny again. So, I’ll be in and out!
Turns out, we had that kind of day, too!

For me, today was a day of errands. The boys made it to the river with a friend, and they swam for a couple of hours before the rains came. We used the day to its fullest – doing various things inside and out.
that sounds like a perfect day, LD

We had a Saturday with periods of sun and rain. But I loved the slow, easy rain we had this afternoon. I was out in our garage with the door open, repotting a plant. It was wonderful! An inch and a half of rain today: I won’t be watering for a couple of days!
…. those slow, steady rains are the best aren’t they? We need about 4 days of that … but things do look better after the 1/2 inch we had last week. MJ
Sunny & warm here in southern China. Taking SUNday and Monday off work and heading to Hong Kong now. Hoping for a couple sunny days by the rooftop pool
enjoy Hong Kong! MJ
We’re only getting enough rain up here to mess w/second cutting hay but not enough to settle the dust on the driveway. That being said, our corn and soy beans are thankful for whatever they can soak up. Enjoy your Sunday!

…. Yes with hay on the ground you don’t want rain now! I had a marvelous Sunday and hope you did as well
MJ
Yes, I know just what you mean! I’ve often recognized that the only difference between a so-so day and a great day is the addition of sunshine! In rainy Ketchikan, the sunshine is VERY important. Glad you’re enjoying a sunny day, and best of all, a sunny day NOT spent looking out of an office window, wishing to be out in it! ~ Sheila
Sunshine makes it all better. The only time I don’t want it about is after I’ve had my eyes dilated at the opticians!

Weird weather these days, isn’t it? We went nearly two months with no rain, and now it won’t stop. Too much of a good thing either way. Hope you enjoyed your Saturday.
Hugs,
Kathy
I hear you, Kathy … we are all over the place. I guess it does continue to provide something to chat about though!
MJ
I completely agree. I love the sunshine and I want to be in it! But there’s a cozy feeling that goes along with being inside and watching the rain fall down outside.
Hot again today and t-storms maybe … here’s hoping. We’re still bone dry in West MI. Cheers to you, Terri! MJ
We’ve had gorgeous perfect beach weather, we’ve been lucky that way. But we really need rain. Hope to get some thunder tonight.
I hope you got your thunder .. and more! MJ
We did! We actually had some rain last night. First time in a long time.
whoop whoop!!
and sitting in a shallow river or creek with the water running over your legs and the Saturday’s sun shining on your shoulders…say THAT 3 times real fast! Haha!
… now that sounds absolutely divine!
MJ (( and I tried but I can’t say it through 3x..
