I woke to an unfamiliar sound today: that of raindrops at the windowsill. Not a lashing and barely even really a storm, just a gentle autumn rain softly coming down.
Hitting the snooze button, I rolled over and smiled my way into another 10 minutes of slumber.
Because such a sound only invites more dreaming, don’t you think?

Wonderful quote you shared this morning, MJ! There isn’t a much nicer sound than rain on the roof when you’re snuggled in bed. My childhood home was an old house with a tin roof: ahhhhh! Raindrops on that roof sang me to sleep many a night!
It took me a minute to figure out what was going on .. it’s been that dry here this summer! I love the sound of the rain, especially if I have the luxury of snuggling up in inside. A few of the farm building have tin roofs and, like you, the sound of rain on those is unmistakable .. like a melody!

It is raining here in my neck of the woods (Hangzhou)… it started yesterday morning and was still drizzling this morning when I woke up… brought cooler temps (in the 60′s!!!) and made for a lovely run last night!
ahh sounds perfect! We’re heading into some fall-like weather at the end of the week. I’ve been running on the treadmill b/c it’s too hot outside. But once it cools a bit, I will try the C25k program out there. Bests!

We’ve had a lot of rain here in the south, while others have suffered. I keep reminding myself to be patient because we are fortunate to have it. Love your quote. Looks like the rain inspired a little creativity in you!
I hesitated to write about rain given all that swept through the Gulf coast … but yes, it did inspire me .. to roll over, smile and listen

Has been for a couple days…wonderful to listen to the drops through the trees out back. And even when mom nature isn’t in the mood, I have a CD that’s plays a full hour of a soft rainfall…nothing more relaxing or snooze button inducing….

I wish it were raining in my neck of the woods! It’s been quite hot around these parts. Hopefully it cools off a bit this weekend so I can put out some fall decor.
We got a little more rain last night and the temps cooled into the 50s overnight. Feels like fall out there!
