The hubbs nicknamed me “Mouse” years ago. At the time, our oldest boy was into the movie “American Tail” and the lead character’s name, “Fievel Mouskowitz” stuck. It was just fun to say, kind of like john-jacob-jingleheimer-schmidt. But .. I digress.
I started calling him “Mousekowitz.” And this is a boy who now towers over me and has for about 12 years. One day, hubbs heard me say this and commented, “If anyone’s a mouse, it’s you.” And the nickname has stuck on me!
But it goes deeper you see. I always could relate to that little “Country Mouse” since I also grew up in the country. Yep, country living was it for me. Riding horses on acre after acre, embracing 4-H and pickup trucks, country music and hay bales. But .. as often is the case with farm kids, I saw the big lights and soon the Country Mouse set her sights on the city. And here I am.
Which leads me to this photo…it struck me that this is EXACTLY how I picture myself when I take on something new…small but fierce! What mental images do you conjure up when you’re preparing for a new challenge?
A helmet for blogging might be overkill but one can never be too careful.
probably don’t need the helmet! good luck with your blog
