SuperBowl 45 is tomorrow! At our house, SuperBowl equals super tasty snacks and no SuperBowl party is complete without some spicy, cheesy goodness. I make a variety of foods that we consider “SuperBowl-worthy” like wings, subs, and dips.
Here’s an easy recipe for Buffalo Chicken Dip. It’s simple to prepare, naughty as hell and provides just the right amout of “soak” for those of us who might like to partake in a few Killians during the game.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this tasty treat:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softenend
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2-3 cups of cooked/chopped chicken (I use rotisserie chicken for flavor & ease of preparation)
- 1 cup buffalo chicken wing sauce (any will do)
- 1 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
- 1 cup shredded cheese – cheddar, colby whatever
- PS: you can use light versions of the dairy & dressings to cut some of the fat … but this dish is far from being heart-healthy
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Mix cream cheese & sour cream & spread into the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish. Mix chicken & wing sauce and spread over the cream cheese/sour cream . Next pour dressing (ranch or blue cheese) and smooth that over the chicken mixture. Top with shredded cheese & bake for 30 minutes. Watch carefully to avoid burning the cheese.*
Serve warm with Frito scoops, tortilla chips & celery.
*This can be made ahead, taken to a party cold & heated up at the party destination. Stand back and prepare yourself for the compliments!

Special thanks to my sweet friend Maureen who shared this recipe with me several SuperBowls ago.
Oh boy this looks good, def wanna give it a try for tomorrow.
It is – and it’s super easy to make, too! Enjoy 🙂 MJ
Hope you all have a fun Superbowl celebration tomorrow! Buffalo Chicken dip sure sounds good.
You, too, CM’s wife. That dip is naughty but oh-so-good and the great party is you can make it a little healthier and no one will know! Cheers, MJ
I made a healthy version (fat free cream cheese & sour cream, low fat blue cheese dressing and 2% cheddar) for bunco and it was awesome. Nobody even knew it was “light”. I also used rotisserie chicken and I used Frank’s Hot Sauce (my fave). I love this dip. Enjoy the game!
How did you know Frank’s hot sauce is my favorite, too? 🙂 I’ve made it light and no one was the wiser .. delish. Have fun today! MJ
Wow- this sounds delicious- I think we just might add this to our host of yummy and “healthy” 😉 treats for the game tomorrow!!
Enjoy the game!!
Go Packers!!
It’s a fun & easy dip that warms the tummy on a cold February day .. I’ve made it for baby showers, housewarming parties, graduations and yes SuperBowl. Go Packers! 😉 MJ
Oh YUM that sounds good! Thanks for sharing the recipe! I won’t be having or going to a Superbowl party, but I’ll be sure to try this dip soon.
Anytime, Terri. It’s one of those that’s easy and always a big hit .. I have made it with or without the ranch/blue cheese dressing and either way it’s fantastic. Have fun today whatever you end up doing! Cheers, MJ
Oooo, looks delicious! Happy Football to ya!
It is a hearty, spicy, bit of cheesy goodness. I highly recommend this one :). Happy Game day to you! 🙂
