Going back to Massachussetts

There’s a musical group I adore named the “Bee Gees.” They’re mostly associated with disco, a genre that they had huge success with in the late ’70s.

What may not be as widely appreciated is how brilliant their harmony was over the course of their career.  Comprised of oldest brother Barry Gibb and younger fraternal twins Maurice and Robin Gibb, their tight harmonies were both melodic and distinctive.  After Maurice’s sudden death in 2003, the Bee Gees (short for Brothers Gibb) stopped performing.  http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bee_Gees

But their recordings live on.  And am I ever grateful.

(A side note to any girl who came of age in the 1970’s: notice the striking resemblance in the first video between oldest brother Barry {in the background/center} and their youngest brother, 70’s heart-throb Andy Gibb.  Me-to the ow!)

“Massachusetts” by the Bee Gees … an early version I’m guessing this is from ~1968:

Thank you, Bee Gees, for giving this little gal a reason to sing her face off every chance she can!
