Be

A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly.  You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.  ~Roald Dahl

Happiness is an attitude.  We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong.  The amount of work is the same.  ~Francesca Reigler

So often time it happens, we all live our life in chains, and we never even know we have the key.  ~The Eagles, “Already Gone”

The only people who find what they are looking for in life are the fault finders.  ~Foster’s Law

Every thought is a seed.  If you plant crab apples, don’t count on harvesting Golden Delicious.  ~Bill Meyer

No life is so hard that you can’t make it easier by the way you take it.  ~Ellen Glasgow

Misery is a communicable disease.  ~Martha Graham

A loving person lives in a loving world.  A hostile person lives in a hostile world; everyone you meet is your mirror.  ~Ken Keyes, Jr.

Some days there won’t be a song in your heart.  Sing anyway.  ~Emory Austin

  1. Great quotes, thank you!

  2. Beautiful attitudes. Thank you for sharing…we must be in sync today, this morning my post is just two quotes.

  3. What a good way to start the weekend – with positive thought! How is the healing coming along?

  4. I love all of these– especially that Roald Dahl quote! Thanks for sharing, MJ 🙂

  5. razzlemonster

    Awesome quotes!

  6. Thank you for this. Somebody dumped a little dog at our front gate and it made it’s way to the house and has been here a week. I put my love wall up and made posters, phone calls, and got on the waiting list at the Humane Society. Today, while I was working in the garden, she walked over and licked my face. I couldn’t stand it anymore and I picked her up and gave her a hug. When i got back to the house, the Shelter had called and they have a place for her now and will start the process of getting her out into a foster home. After letting some tears flow, I read this post. Thanks. If I can’t keep her, I am grateful and happy that someone can. I won’t be sad, I’ll be grateful.

  7. awww…. and that fuzzy little soul with her face-licking ways let you know just why she ended up on YOUR doorstep… because she needed a lovely hearted person to help her get to her “forever” home. Bless you for being so big-hearted, Lissa! 🙂 MJ

  8. Great quotes! The first one cracked me up, and it is so true! Really like the Ken Keyes Jr. quote.

    Neat new header, btw!

  9. Thanks .. I loved them all .. and that first one made me grin, too. Cheers! MJ

  10. You are definitely an “optimist prime” MJ! Thank you!
