50%

“Sex appeal is fifty percent what you’ve got and fifty percent what people think you’ve got.” ~Sophia Loren.

Date Night’s here again!  I’ve written often on the significance of date night and how they affect what’s in my relationship basket.

Next month, Hubbs and I celebrate 20 years of marriage. We’ve had our ups and we’ve had our downs.  We’ve encountered smooth sailing and we’ve endured rough seas, too.

But, through it all, date nights have always been the buoy we swim to against the undertow of daily living.

Whatever you’ve got – I say … work it!  Boom chicka mow mow!

  1. You are a goofy girl! LOL (Boom chicka mow mow). Too funny. Congrat’s on twenty years. Have fun.

  2. Enjoy your date night! I think it’s so special that the two of you do that….

    • I do, too, Dianna. We have a date night every week – many times it’s at home but sometimes we go out, like we did last night. Happy Sunday! MJ

  3. Hooray for date night!

Tonight Sara and I are only going to play dominoes with her sister and sister-in-law, but it’s inevitable that we’ll have fun. Oh, the excitement of life here in Kentucky!

    Enjoy your evening———-

    Hugs,
    Kathy

  4. Big huge LIKE:) Enjoy your date!

  5. Have a great date night MJ:)

  6. Have FUN! 🙂

  7. Ditto Rich! lol Now you did write about “goofballs” once upon a time…

  8. Congratulations on 20 yhears! And may you never lose that lovin’ feeling!

  9. This is so true! I agree with your comments about the importance of date nights and regular connection to keep marriage healthy. I also agree that sex appeal is partly internal and partly perception. Love the photo! ~ Sheila

    • Absolutely! We both dress up a little more than we would if we were just at home, we look our best, smell nice and both of us know that the effort is for the other one. We enjoy our chats together on the way to wherever we’re going (or if we’re staying home). We laugh, we banter, we re-connect. We remind ourselves that our marriage is about the 2 of us and if we don’t pay attention to it – who will?

      Cheers! MJ

      • “if we don’t pay attention to it – who will?”??? That’s for sure….Our jobs, our kids, the laundry…always something clamoring for a piece of our time so unless you intentionally do stuff together as a couple it is so easy to drift, and forget what attracted you to each other in the first place. We’ve had our share of ups and downs just like you guys..but things are still feeling, alive and frisky @ our place too after 32 years..but only by the grace of God…

      • That’s exactly it, DM. It’s easy to drift, it’s easy to blame the other … the truth is the commitment is in the showing up, the doing, the listening, and the message that says, “I still choose you.” Cheers on 32 years 🙂 MJ

  10. I’m thinking I’ll have what you are having 🙂

  11. You’re 100% terrific, so I’m thinking date night was a hit! Will we be hearing about it or is ‘mum’ the word? LOL.

  12. Hope you had a blast!

    W00t!
And remember; the most important sex organ is the brain.

  14. I am thankful I am not left to my own devices when it comes to the 50%…

  15. I haven’t heard “Boom chicka mow mow” in quite some time! lol Congrats on twenty years, keep going!

  16. And a little Chicka Boom Boom now and then ain’t bad either. Yes, to date nights.

  17. 😀 You made me laugh! Congrats on 20 years!

  18. Congrats on 20 years, I’d love to hear all about the special 20 year date night…well not ALL about it. Magical! Love the picture…

    • We’re not quite there .. next month. And there’s been heavy debate on what shall commemorate the “date.” Honestly, we’ll do something “special” but frugal and fun. Cheers! MJ

  19. What a great quote from a wonderful woman.

    Congrats on the 20th anniversary!
