It’s a toe-tappin’ two steppin’ kind of song. The kind of song that makes a girl want a twirly skirt and a man who’ll spin her in it.
The kind of song that makes the kids groan and roll their eyes. The kind of song that makes us laugh and sing along, heh heh.
I think ole Merle has some good advice here, don’t you?
Let’s chase each other ’round the room tonight
Let’s play the games we played on our wedding night
To lock and bolt the door is only right
Let’s chase each other ’round the room tonightSeems like lately people love to play with fire
The other games they play are just as bad
I’d rather stay at home and feel your burning lips
And play the kind of games that make me gladLet’s don’t chase around and make each other weary
Let’s keep all our love at home and out of sight
Let’s leave everything like jealousy behind us
And let’s chase each other ’round the room tonight

I like the way you think, MJ!
Thank you; Hubbs thinks this song is corny but he loves that I like it .. and he will dance with me to it 😉 MJ
I haven’t heard this in a long time. Thanks for the reminder.
It was a staple in my mother’s kitchen growing up 🙂 MJ
That brought back great memories! I haven’t heard this kind of Country music in a long time. My godfather loved Merle and Hank and all the good old stuff. He’s been gone a few years now, but this reminds me of him. 🙂
I love the old country stuff the best and Merle is one of my favorites; listening to him, Willie or George takes me right back to my Mom’s kitchen 🙂

I grew up listening to country music, courtesy of my dad. Merle Haggard was one of his favorites! Love your line about the twirly skirt! ~ Sheila
Well … it’s the truth. I didn’t much like dresses as a girl but I didn’t mind one if I could twirl in it 🙂 MJ
