Fifty percent

One of my favorite commercials running right now features this guy (see below).

I know of no woman with this kind of confidence; in my experience, we’d be so busy wrapping, slathering, buffing and hiding … we’d likely miss the outing entirely.

This summer maybe I’ll get a “whatever” flag and put it in my drink, too!

Happy Friday, peeps.

  1. If only……
“I will if you will, MJ”!

  2. I know one woman 😉 YOU! You exude it! (I still remember the time you told that guy off @ the office who’d said something disrespectful and degrading, and then asked you if you had a problem w/ it)… You get my vote.

    • Me? Ha – I think not. I do remember that post/story … that jerk deserved it. But that wasn’t confidence on my part .. he really ticked me off. Thanks for the vote 🙂

  3. This guy looks like one of my brothers, which makes me laugh even more when I see this commercial. Knock yourself out MJ. LOL. 🙂

  4. My smile for the day!
I like the flag at the end
    God Bless

  5. I love that commercial! Makes me scared to think what others might think my 50% is…. :-/

    • Who knows? It’s funny what our perception of ourselves is vs. what others think/see …. I’m thinking you’re just fine, Stevil … work it!

  6. Bravo MJ! We are so hard on ourselves sometimes that it is difficult to enjoy the vacation we are on for being self-conscious of our appearance. And really – who truly cares?

  7. This is so true! I did an impromptu photo shoot on the beach with the guy I was hiking with last week. I was mortified at the photos! When he handed me the disc the other day he enthusiastically said he couldn’t wait for me to see them and that the shots with my black bikini bottoms and long sleeve white shirt were amazing. I’m still trying to figure out if the guy needs glasses!

    • Very telling that he saw someone amazing and you saw the flaws — sometimes we just have to get out of our own way. Rock it beautiful lady!

  8. I’ve not seen this one, MJ. I like the quote at the end, and think I’m better off if the 50% is covered up. 🙂

    • I love that ad and play it over and over … it makes me chuckle and stand taller.

and, like you, I like to be more covered up than not … leaving somethin’ to the imagination is a good thing I think 🙂 MJ

  9. If more people had that “whatever” attitude, maybe more of us would be more accepting of what we’ve got instead of what we wish we had. I like it!

  10. Oh, I’m with you! I like to think I’m confident…but often it’s just a great front! Love the quote, I think it’s perfect! ~ Sheila

  11. This post and flamidwyfe’s comment above just reinforce what I have, after 67 years, finally learned from someone who really loves me…it’s the ‘beauty’ inside that is important. And, yes, sometimes we just have to get out of our own way.
