So this weekend brought us “Daylight Savings Time” again.
You know, the whole “Spring Forward” thing.
The one usually chatted up by someone cheerful about it.
Where I grew up, we never adjusted our clocks. The seasons came and the seasons went and the clock on the kitchen wall stayed as it was – untouched.
I always struggle with this change.Ā The whole it’s-7:00 a.m.-but really 6:00 a.m. so-tonight-will-be-great-cause -when-you-get-home-in 9-hours-you’ll- feel-springy-like-since-there’s-more-daylight-left-and-you know – it’s-lighter- doesn’t work for me.
I know I’m supposed to feel like this:
But today, I feel more like this:
How about you?Ā Do you have any problems adjusting to “Daylight Savings time?”

Oh, those pictures are so cute!! I must admit that I felt a bit like the 2nd kitty yesterday. Since I’m a fairly early riser, I really don’t care for the dark mornings. But that will change soon, and the sun will be rising earlier. I remember Daylight Savings Time began in our area when I was a child. My mom and grandmother (for weeks after the time change) would say: “Well, it’s only * o’clock BY THE SUN”. I didn’t think about how cute that saying was until I was grown!
“by the sun!” is adorable and spot on š MJ
Well it’s 8:15 by the clock where I’m staying and I’m the first one up. It’s awkward being the first one up when you’re a guest in someone’s home. Did put the coffee pot on in hopes of waking up some folks.
did the coffee help? š MJ

Love the kitten pictures! I think DST should be for always. I never liked losing that hour of sleep, and my body knows what time it “REALLY” is.
I’m still adjusting even today!! I loved the kitten photos, too š MJ
These photos are perfect! I agree…WHY do we have to do this? Just not worth it! Hope your body and clock are in sync soon.:) ~ Sheila
It usually takes me about a week and, yes, I don’t know why we do it, either. Argh! MJ
Those two photos are fabulous! They say it all. It always amazes me how long it takes to adjust to one hour of time difference- and I seem to adjust to a three hour time difference in about the same amount of days.
yes – it takes me at least a week to “catch” up .. I must have hit the snooze button 8 times this morning!! MJ
I adore those pictures. And yes, like you, I feel completely zonked! Why does a civilized nation need to fool around with the clocks? I say pick a time and keep it forever. The days will naturally get longer all by themselves just as you observed.
I felt pretty good last night but not so much this morning .. and I even went to bed earlier….. grrr. Just let it be people!
MJ
I’m the kitty in the dish. I think we should be on CST all the time. I dislike changing time because my body does not know that someone messed with the time.
I know it .. I am still catching up but each day is a little better š MJ
I guess I don’t question daylight savings time. It’s a process we’ve just always followed because, well, what choice do we have? But if you ask me, it’s a stupid practice. Why are we trying to fool ourselves into thinking it’s really an hour later than it is? Why don’t we just accept the pattern of the days as they are?
Then again, I’m not complaining about the “extra” daylight.
Agreed = it’s a stupid practice. I think it had it’s day and that day has come & gone š
