Dare we say it? Dare we?
Snow Thursday, 64 Saturday.
But out and about this morning, something in the mulch caught my attention.
Something small and pink and determined:
“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
“Winter is dead.”
― A.A. Milne, When We Were Very Young
A sure sign of spring…I think you’re safe to declare it. 🙂
They’re so hearty and persistent, I love it! I hope I’m safe to declare it but have learned to never say never 🙂 MJ
Mine are about to bloom. Of course I am much further south of you.
So pretty – enjoy! I remembered to put the stakes out this year so they have some support; last year, by the time I thought of it, they were too tall.
Bests! MJ
We can only hope! Although, we’ve had warm temps here for a couple of weeks, and lots of things are sprouting and blooming!
The Day Lillies are up and the Hostas are poking through, too 🙂 I saw a bumblebee yesterday. We’re to hit 80 on Wed then back into the rainy 60s. I will still take 60 over 40!! 😉 MJ
I’m gonna let you proclaim it while I cautiously enjoy this GORGEOUS weather.
Okay, okay… I’ll admit it! Winter IS dead! 🙂 My Day Lilies are sprouting.
WOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!
It’s such a happy feeling to see those signs of spring — and hear so many birds yesterday! 🙂 MJ
Yay!
whoop whoop! MJ
When those peonies start poking up, spring must come. Fingers crossed, MJ!
That’s what I’m thinkin’, too 🙂 MJ
Aahh…after the long winter, so wonderful to see spring come back! I know just how you feel, I love to see the first green tips of daffodils coming up through the mulch in my flower bed! I love all the seasons, but the older I get, the more important spring becomes! ~ Sheila
I can’t agree more, Sheila — I love all seasons, too, but I do think Spring is my favorite — it’s just so ALIVE 🙂 MJ
scenes like this are as exciting as Christmas morning and hunting for Easter eggs. I LOVE to see the new shoots pushing their way up. Adrenaline rush!!!
Absolutely – and a week later those shoots are nearly 7″ tall already 🙂 MJ
