“I invited Intuition to stay in my house when my roommates went North.
I warned her that I am territorial and I keep the herb jars in alphabetical order. Intuition confessed that she has a ‘spotty employment record.’ She was fired from her last job for daydreaming.
When Intuition moved in, she washed all the windows, cleaned out the fireplace, planted fruit trees, and lit purple candles.
She doesn’t cook much.
She doesn’t have many possessions.
Each thing is special. I wish you could see the way she arranged her treasures on the fireplace mantle. She has a splendid collection of cups, bowls, and baskets.
Well, the herbs are still in alphabetical order, and I can’t complain about how the house looks.Since Intuition moved in, my life has been turned inside out.”
― J. Ruth Gendler, The Book of Qualities
So tell me, if Intuition came knocking … would you invite her in?
I have a house guest currently that has moved into our B and B suite that matches the description of intuition. I am not kidding. she’s 42 yrs old, a musician/writer/poet…she has very few possessions, follows her “muse’ as she puts it, has enriched our lives 10 fold..and I already feel I have a pretty good handle on living my life more intentionally. So I know the question is not meant to be literal, but it is so close to what’s going on in our lives currently, I couldn’t help but see the parallel ..so in answer to your question..YES I would and have invited her in. 😉 DM
I actually thought of you and your wife when I read that quote! I thought of your guest, whom you’ve written of with such respect, and wondered if you’d see this. Yes it wasn’t meant to be literal but yet .. it kinda was. So cool that you see the parallel 🙂

I’d give it a try for sure. You are never too old to learn something new.
You know it. I’ve never eaten a persimmon, now I want to, 🙂

I honor her. Without her, I wouldn’t be the midwife, mother, sage femme that I am 🙂
I know you do, Sandi-girl. That sage is rockin isn’t she? 🙂
MJ
I would welcome her with open arms!
Me, too!!
