We took a much-needed break this week with some time off.
No stress. No clocks. No dress code.
No meal plans. No chores. No particular place to be.
Wake when we wake, sleep when we sleep.
Eat when we’re hungry and stretch when we’re sore.
Quiet mornings sipping coffee as the fog lifts from the yard.
Happy evenings spent talking, laughing and connecting.
No phones. No distractions and no one else’s problems to solve.
We’ve gambled,golfed and gamed.
We’ve laughed, lunched and lingered.
We’ve napped, read and putzed.
And we’ve done it all … together.
Intimacy = into ME see.

First, I love your banner photo with the carousel. And your time off, to rest sounds lovely. I can feel the stress draining away.
Me, too. That photo is magical! And this week was as well π MJ
Everyone needs a week like every now and then. Helps you unwind and makes normal life interesting again.
Time outs are a lot more fun as an adult than they were as a child π MJ
that is a great blue print for spending a block of time. I think am going to make a copy, run the idea by the Mrs and do likewise. I’m feeling a need for a pause as well.DM
do it! Check out, turn out the lights and just book it. We took a country drive and spent the night at a hotel/casino. Something we’d never done. We had fun with it and watching/meeting people. We enjoyed our beautiful room & balcony and getting away from everyone and every thing. We didn’t spend a bunch of money and we didn’t invite anyone else along, either π MJ
That sounds lovely! I want a break just like that.
It’s do-able .. even for one night and one full day = ahhh!
MJ
Oooh — love your new header! That’s amazing.
And….did you wear your twirly skirt last week????
Sounds like a wonderful week – “intimacy”: hadn’t heard that before…. great!
Dianna, when I found it I thought of you immediately π It’s so whimsical, I just love it, too.
Yes – several twirly skirts – whee π
A wonderful week together; that “intimacy” quote was shared by our Pastor during our wedding. It’s so very true!

Nothing like getting off the merry-go-round. Good for you!
Absolutely – getting off it with a kick and a gallop π
MJ
This sounds fantastic! I got a mini-dose Last weekend, but I would love to have a longer go at it soon.
It was just that easy; I think we get too caught up in the “have-tos” — at least I do. It’s good to kick the list to the curb and just “be” … Thanks for visiting! MJ
It sounds like you made the best use of your time! Great header image.
We did; I feel quite rested and refreshed — just in time for work tomorrow π
And I love that image as well, MJ
Hmmm, great quote. So happy for your time together. It’s times like those that keep you strong. Filling that lovin’ cup!
I love that quote; π
It’s times like this that make me smile — and keep things “Fresh.”
We went out for 9 holes of golf today. I don’t golf, at least, not yet. But he does. And he was just so happy to have me ride alongside him that who was I to say, “No.”
And the skirt didn’t hurt – ha!
MJ
Sounds absolutely wonderful!
* Sigh … it was. We wrapped it up yesterday with another round of golf on a hot summer’s day, a few cool Lime beers and then ribs I’d simmered in the crockpot + Fresh Corn on the cob, from the Market stand up the road. A good day π MJ
What a lovely way to spend a week…and especially together the entire time. I love the quote from Martin Luther!
Yes, it really was. I am up for work and feeling rested and refreshed π
MJ
Glad to hear you got some much-needed rest! Sounds like a lovely week!
Hugs from Ecuador,
Kathy
It was everything I’d hoped for == easy, peasy, comfy & cozy. Fun, restful, restorative & delightful π
Hugs back!
MJ
Glad you had a great week off…we are doing that too! Getting in a little RV time in sunny CA! ~ Sheila
