‘Tis November

‘Tis November today.

It arrived with a roar.

Cool yet lovely, not to be ignored.

I’m home, you see.

With my ever-present list.

One that I might

just choose to dismiss.

Instead, I shall work at coffee, books,

peace and rest.

Leaves are rustling, the furnace kicks on;

soup simmers quietly, the smell of .. home.

‘Tis November today …

and I’m home, you see.

Would you consider joining me?

  1. It is a soup kind of weekend. I am cooking tomorrow!

    • I agree; I had cooked the chicken down on H’ween night so all I had to do was assemble the soup on Friday πŸ™‚ We had it for lunch AND supper — what kind are you making, Kate? MJ

  2. Oh, I would LOVE to join you, MJ! Just let me grab my things…and hop a plane!
Enjoy your wonderful November day at HOME.

    • Please do πŸ™‚ wouldn’t we ever have fun!
I really enjoyed the day — yes I did a few things (cleaned out my closet – ugh – but it sure looks much better now!) but mostly I did what I felt like and that was the feeling of a day OFF πŸ™‚

      Bests! MJ

  3. Indeed I would;-)

  4. It is great you are home. Does FedEx get soup to their customers on time? A jar would be nice πŸ™‚ looks great. Enjoy!

    • You know what? They probably do πŸ™‚ I’d have to get some dry ice, methinks!
There’s nothing like a hot bowl of soup on a blustery fall day … Bests! MJ

  5. Sounds like a wonderful, cozy, relaxing way to spend the day. And your soup looks yummy!

    • It was wonderfully cozy, Terri. Just what I needed. I did get a few things accomplished (cleaned out my closet, took 3 bags to goodwill and 2 to the dump!) so that feels better – I can actually stand to look in there now!! I read, I simmered, I enjoyed the soup, I even napped in my chair for 20 min – whee!

Have a great weekend πŸ™‚ MJ

  6. Love the poem! Happy November!

  7. soup looks awesome!!!

  8. A virtual cupful would be delightful. ooo–your rhyming is contagious as is your soup inspiration for today’s lunch and/or dinner. Have a great rest of the weekend with an extra hour to enjoy. πŸ™‚

    • I agree πŸ™‚ Thanks, I had fun with the rhyming!! It’s a beautifully sunny day here, the leaves are still on the trees (for the most part) so I am headed out for a walk in that morning sun = whee!
      MJ

  9. Oh, yum!
