I remember the song, but didn’t know who sang it. Wasn’t expecting that deep a voice from someone who looks so young!
I agree, that voice kind of doesn’t belong in his young face/body!
Great dance song .. and very catchy 🙂
MJ
this song came out at the time that Connie and I had just met. I had hoped that the band could play it at our wedding reception but we got a “generic” classic rock, country-western/polka band that plays just about every VFW in the upper Midwest. They did well, they dressed in cut off blue jean shorts and joined the party on the dance floor when the crowd started thinning…so did the ladies in the VFW kitchen. Only in Iowa….? Probably not. Great song. 🙂
RR
boy your response took me back. I think I’ve been at – and danced in – the VFW you wrote of. I KNOW I’ve been one of the kitchen ladies juking and jiving in the back 🙂
Fun!
Thanks for the weigh-in, RR !
MJ
Oh…I forgot one thing. One wall of the VFW was carpeted. The wall. Shag carpeted. Funny stuff for Iowa, maybe not in NY City in the 1980’s. Can’t imagine that “that” particular remodel idea was from the “boys on the board” but one of their wives! LOL.
Ha ha ha! Classic!
MJ
Refreshing! He is as smooth as disco. He makes doing all the things he promises look as easy as the back flips and back bends of his dancers.
Totally! I remember this playing and reaching over to turn it up on the radio; fun times!

Funny! And strange. This is the second time in about two days that I’ve come across this video. I always did love this song though. And used to think Rick Astley was SO cute!
I thought he was pretty cute, too but now I think .. geez was he like .. 14? 🙂 MJ
