Not missing it

It’s been another wild week at work.  For months now, I’ve been putting in a tonne of extra hours on a project that will last most of this year, and I’m also filling in for another who has been in and out with health issues. It’s exhausting and yes, I’m exhausted.

Feeling the pinch, I scheduled a day off for tomorrow.

Can’t really do it.  Probably shouldn’t do it. And to me, that’s a sure sign I need to do it.

Guess what I’m doing tomorrow?

Nothing in particular!

No chores. No cleaning. No cooking. No laundry. Nada.

No checking email. No returning phone calls. No work. None.

Coffee and blogs in the morning then lunch with my girlfriends. A pedicure. Open a few windows and roll in the day.  Evening with hubbs, tunes on the mp3 and a smile on my face.  Ahh.

Happy Spring! Happy Everything! Tell me where you are going today, even if it’s just a daydream at this point :).

  1. MJ, I love your exuberance about your days off! You just paint a perfect picture: lunch with friends and a pedi, evening with hubbs? Perfect!
No plans for me, and that’s bad: with this nasty weather, all I want to do is snack, snack, snack. I have to find an alternate activity!

    • Well, I think it’s important to celebrate the little things. 🙂 I hope you find a great alternative inside, I’ll bet Sundae has some ideas (IE pet me, pet me!) Happy Friday 🙂 MJ

  2. It is a gorgeous day here. One of our first really warmer days. The hubby and I are going to a car show. I know…really not my cup of tea but spending time with the hubster is the best!

  3. Take care of yourself!! No job list that I’ve ever received has “take good care of yourself” on it…so it’s up to us. 🙂 Good call.

    • True that, RR. I slept till I woke, no alarm clock today, and am enjoying my coffee and blog-reading this fine a.m. Happy Friday! MJ

  4. So glad you’re taking a day off. You deserve it, my friend!

    Hugs from Ecuador,
    Kathy

  5. “Good for you!”
Today? Rick and I will be packing more boxes so when one of these deals goes through, we can get on to the next chapter of “not missing it”, i.e. sunsets, sunrises, the delicious smell of hay, rain on the metal barn roof, living on one floor, wearing my ariats daily. Enjoy your day and weekend. It’s beautiful down here, btw.

  6. I’m glad you took the day off, anyway. And it sounds like a lovely way to spend it. It seems it was chilly here that day.
