Summer’s delights

Late sunsets & early sunrises, cherries ready, pool’s waiting; sandals, skirts & pedicures. Patio nights and baseball on the radio.

Fresh everything, kids on bikes, neighbors in yards, and conversations over fences.

Summer storms, fireflies, windows open, fans on, followed by a/c blowing.

Road trips:  music up, windows down.

Lake visits,  pie and supper outside.

The scents of charcoal and sunscreen; the sights of flip-flops and golfer’s tans.

And vacation that starts later today!

Summer – she doesn’t stay long.

What do you love most about summer?

  1. Having been gone for 8 weeks this summer, it sure seems to have slipped on by!

  2. I love the clothes. Nothing heavy, no coats, freedom to swing my arms without sleeves trapping them. I love entertaining outdoors. It always seems easier. Free concerts in the park. Festivals. Ice cream (it tastes better in the summer). Watermelon! Oh yeah! I love summer……

    • Love everything on your list and it hit me yesterday that I have not yet had an iced cream cone – and I’m having one this week 🙂

In shorts, a tank & flip flops right now – sipping coffee and listening to the birds enjoy the sprinkler … ahh

      MJ

  3. Your list is pretty much all-inclusive, except for the skirts…can’t wear ’em with my ankles….;)

The smell of suntan lotion and chlorine really drives it home that its summer…for me.

    • ha ha ha!
Love my summer days – and I know you recently enjoyed a “staycation,” RR – we’re doing much of the same — heading out overnight 1 x next week otherwise we’re around and going to “putz” full time 🙂 MJ

  4. Happy vacation MJ!
What I love best about summer? The lack of complaining about SNOW and the cold! Ha. 😉

  5. Vacation! So happy for you. We’ll be counting down the days until ours this fall. What do I like best about summer? Leaving home without coat, scarf, gloves, etc. in tow.

  6. I like our outdoor room! Enjoy your vacation.

  7. Mmmmm… you’ve described everything that’s good and fun about summer! I love it all, especially being able to get outside the confines of the house and office and communing with nature. Happy vacation, MJ!

    • yes yes and yes! I have the slider to the screened porch open now and am enjoying the birdies chirping at my full feeders 🙂 MJ

  8. All that you listed!! Especially the flip flops! I would add “flowers blooming”!
