You know you are winter-strong when you hear others comment, “We got a foot and a half of snow in 3 days.” “Yeah, I know, but hey – at least we’re not in Buffalo!”

This week’s record-breaking storm tells a tale unlike any I’ve heard before.  To support the American Red Cross  shelters for those impacted, click here.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?”

  1. Whenever I have a crummy day or a bad attitude about things I stop to remember that TODAY:
…someone will find out that they have cancer.
…someone will get a phone call that a loved one has passed away.
…a parent is wondering how they will get the next meal for their child.
…someone is wondering how they will pay for their medicine.
…someone is wondering where their loved one is.
…someone is wanting a job but can’t find one.
…someone is lonely in a world full of people.
…someone is aching from a broken heart.

That mindset kind of puts things into perspective for me. Count your blessings and not your worries.

  2. One of my husband’s most often used statements is: “There’s always someone who would trade places with you.”.
