Here comes the weekend and it’s time for a 5 + Q&A – Ready? Here we go!
1. What sound do you love?
A: Rain, preferably with thunder.
2. If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you’d do?
A: Double and triple check the numbers!
3. What do you miss most about the summers of your childhood?
A: Sleepovers in the tent, riding our horses at midnight, swimming in the lake, flirting with boys at summer camp, getting just a little bit sunburnt, earning money for the fair, iced cream melting on birthday cake and the easy–breezy carefree feeling that just was summer. And my Grandparents. I miss them.
4. Are you usually late, early or right on time?
A: Early. Always.
5. What are you looking forward to this weekend?
A: Grandkids! Hubbs and oldest boy are golfing and me & the wee ones are off to Nana adventures, wherever that may take us!
Bonus Question: 5 things I’m loving right now:
- Sandals
- Cherries, corn on the cob and anything on the grill
- Birds and frogs chirping
- Tank tops and T-storms
- Reading outside in the waning summer light
I hope you play along ~ please put your answers in the comments section! And if you only answer one question answer this: What one thing about summer are you absolutely loving right now?
What one thing am I loving? That we’re not in a drought!
yes! 20 days till I fly home to Sask and they are under a drought AND forest fire smoke haze — much to be grateful for, MJ
1) Birds chirping outside. Each species has a different sound.
2) After I double checked the numbers, I would cry…then find a good accountant
3) Waking up late and hanging with my neighbor friend, Penny all day.
4) Usually early (except work, can’t seem to make it on time)
5) Graduation party visiting with friends.
Bonus 5 things:
Not having to wear a coat
Vacation to St. Ignace in a couple of weeks
Sitting on my desk listening to podcasts
Painting wonderful pieces of furniture to make them look new
Black sweet cherries
Ooh I loved your answers, Diane! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! MJ
Warm weather. Yes, the weather has been wonky but soooo much better than the cold winter. And summer fruits and veggies are the best ever!
yes, yes and yes! MJ
MJ, I absolutely love your “Fives.” The one thing I am loving about summer right now is a day of full sunshine. It has opened my heart, mind and sinuses and I actually packed up and trekked down to the pool for a dip. Now it actually feels like summer even if we are not right at the beach.
I agree – the sunshine has been bountiful the past week or so and I’m loving the pinch of too much of it! 🙂 MJ
Great answers, MJ. The one thing I love about summer this year is being with my husband. Retirement is the best!!!!!
Awesome Shirley!! MJ
Banging on the LOVE button!
Thank you DK! MJ
Reading backwards through my reader feed…800 posts, congratulations on that milestone! I’ve definitely enjoyed the ride! You’re amazing, and an inspiration. I appreciate that you’re such a reliable poster…gives me a goal to shoot for! ~ Sheila
I’m glad we’re blogging pals and always enjoy reading your viewpoint & thoughts on things 🙂 MJ
I always went for the ice cream sandwiches. I aim to be right on time, but usually a little early.
Yes, the sandwiches or the “revels” – a toffee coated ice cream bar on a stick. Yum!
I like to be early = it’s a control thing with me. When I’m riding with someone (hubbs) and they’re behind the time… ack it makes me nuts! MJ
