Hey! It’s Friday! It’s time for 5 random things from my world. Ready? Set? Go!
1 I’m still getting used to writing 2016. I can’t seem to do it, I’ve written 15 and 17 but 16 throws me off. What gives?
2 I don’t know about you but that first work week of the year kicks butt. I did nothing more than “normal stuff,” but every night found me dozing in my chair before 9pm.
3 Facebook: I have my account set so that only friends of friends can request me as a friend (say that 3 times). Still – the other day I received a weird message from some guy in Florida who I don’t know asking me to connect with him and telling me his daughter (!) would really like me as a Step-Mom. I didn’t respond but it drove home the point once again, “You just can’t make this stuff up.”
4 True. Every time.
5 Today would have been Elvis Presley’s 81st birthday. I’d still be swooning and singing along. *Sigh
Happy Friday! We made it – what’s on tap for the weekend, my friends?
Hubby and I are driving up to Ranch Rudolf in Traverse City. Our company trip is awaiting us. We are suppose to go on a hay ride but we will see about the rain. The main goal is drinking…I mean, enjoying our coworkers. I am not much of a country girl and I didn’t marry me a cowboy, so I don’t know how we will live without TV for a night and morning… The traveling to TC may be the challenge with the weather, but we are leaving early to make some stops along the way. Enjoy your weekend!
I am looking forward to hearing about your weekend at the Ranch. Cowboy up!! 🙂 MJ
My weekend is quiet (yay). Tonight is game night with friends but the rest of the weekend is mine, mine, mine!
Love the saying “mine, mine, mine!” Sometimes we have to stake out a little space for ourselves, don’t we? 🙂 MJ
Yes!
Yep, first check I wrote last week, I put 2015!
Plans for the weekend: celebrating Christmas tonight with my Motor Man and my former classmates. Tomorrow, a little antiquing with one of those classmates.
Enjoy yours, my friend!
me too!! I hope your antiquing was great fun – Cheers! MJ
I remember how hard it was going back to work after the holidays. It was hard. Thank the Lord for retirement! So far I have done fine with 2016, we will see what the future holds. Hubby and I are spending the weekend in Smithfield with my Aunt and church . Looking forward to it.
I hope your weekend with your Aunt was just wonderful; thank you for weighing in Shirley. What kind of work did you do in your day? 🙂 MJ
Every single time I hear an Elvis song I think of you, which is often actually. I think you are the biggest Presley fan I know. Here’s to loyalty in 2016.
Aww — what a sweet connection we have 🙂 It’s hard to not swoon over the hottest man that ever lived ~ Hubba Hubba! MJ
Unexpectedly, this week was much easier on me than I would have thought. I think I needed a return to routine.
Elvis was my first love. My mom introduced him via the G.I. Blues album. I’ve loved him ever since.
As for the weekend: House cleaning, hunkering down due to the cold, and bowling night!
sometimes a return to routine is comforting. Elvis was always my first – and longest lasting – crush 🙂 Hope you’re staying cozy in MN, Tee! MJ
Probably still needing to rest up from the holidays! I hope life is back to normal this week. I can hear you now–Gallileo…
Gallileo Figaro … Magnificoooooooooooooo … 🙂
That’s why I love road trips – I can sing my face off!! Cheers Patti! MJ
