Specializing in Alterations

Is it just me or did someone shrink the weekends weeks?

4 minutes ago it was July.

~sigh~

Life is good.

I really have no complaints to speak of.  Me, hubbs and the kids/family are fine.  I love the work I do. There’s just a lot of it ~ my schedule lately ~ holy wow ~like trying to stuff 12 lbs of potatoes into a 2lb sack.

A reorganization + an endless litany of questions, deadlines, adjustments and situations.

But – in the darkness yesterday morning, as I pulled out of the driveway, on came an old favorite and I smiled and sang along. Sipping coffee in the darkness I smiled and thought, “well this is all that.”  Sometimes those moments are the most sane part of my day.

Time passages.  Indeed it does!

And if the past seven months are any indication, November will be Novem-blurr.

How about you? Have you experienced a time warp lately?

  1. “Novem-blurr” Yes, I can relate. September and October blew past, and I’m sure November will too. I’m trying to empty out my upstairs office/ guest bedroom that became a dumping ground over the past two years, so my son can move up there. Now that he’s about to turn 14 (God, that sounds so old!), he needs a room that’s bigger than a thimble. It’s going to be a lot of work, but the process will force a long overdue purge of stuff. And his current little bedroom (ground floor, across from Mom and Dad) will become my sanctuary. I’ll have to repaint and put in a new carpet, but I’m so excited to have a space to meditate, or write, or sew, or just be. Oh, and the kid wants to have his new room ready by his birthday: Nov. 20. Yikes!

    • That is such a cool idea for your boy ~ and I’m sure he’s very excited to help pick out paint colors & such.
But YOU get the bonus room – ooh how cool is that? 🙂

I will tell you that nabbed the bonus room in this (new to us) house and am loving having my own sanctuary in here – to read, to write or just be — Make it yours, my next project is to create and put up a vision board in here ~ you deserve it, enjoy!!

      Hugs
      MJ

      • Actually, I get to pick paint and carpet for his old room, that will become mine. He has destroyed the carpet over the years.

  2. Awwww. No complaints here either. Love the song.

    • Even on our worst days we still have lives many around the world dream of having.

And I love his accent, didn’t realize he was (I think) an Aussie!! MJ

  3. Every year I swear that July was a few short days and this year was no difference. Everything is now speeding through January when we revert to slow motion until spring breaks again.

  4. Ha! I’ve felt the time warp for awhile now. I agree–four minutes ago it was July! A business merger is added to hubby’s regular daily duties, making for extra hours.
