- Our city / state has made the national news for winter weather events, three weeks in a row.
- we also have flooding from “ice jams” to deal with, too ๐
- Schools have exceeded allowed snow days (6), some by double that amount.
- Snow shovels, snow blowers & ice melt are sold out; beach towels & suntan lotion remain untouched. (Spring Break’s a coming)
- Heat’s up, books are being slayed at night, and I’m working from home for the foreseeable future.
- Soup’s on the stove, and Hubbs is due back from meetings soon.ย ย Hoping the power stays on …
โWinter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.โย โ
- And how are you faring this winter?ย ย
- Are you tucked in safely at home, too?
It is snowing now. Predictions of a bad day with snow, sleet, freezing rain and a zombie apocalypse. (Just kidding about the last one!) Have a great inside day.
ha ha Zombie Apocalypse is right ๐ Stay safe!! MJ
Hoping your power stays on and you and yours are warm and cozy. That soup looks delicious!
so far so good! We lost power for 2 days last week, that was NOT fun. We stayed the first night, but not the 2nd. Brr! Soup is yummy ๐ Cheers, MJ
So far today, I have shoveled the driveway 3 times, and itโs only 11:30 AM here! The snow has begun falling again just now, so I am anticipating doing the driveway at least twice more today. That soup looks delicious … what time is dinner???
I hear you – we rec’d about 8 1/2 inches of “lake effect” snow – the heavy wet “heart attack” snow — I shoveled the steps & sidewalk and, by the time I was done, it was nearly covered again, the snow was coming down like rain. We did what we could to tidy up but it’s so heavy it’s back-breaking. Soup hits the spot on a cold winter’s day! ๐ MJ
Oh Good. I’m glad you are staying put and working from home! We continue to fare quite well. I may venture out this morning and try to get to work. We have a basement remodel, If I can get down my driveway and the mile to the main highway, the rest should be OK. Continue to read the Little House on the Prairie series w/ the wife. I’ve read some of them before, but it’s been so long I don’t remember what comes next. The other thing that has helped fill some of the time has been working on family genealogy. Even the free access to Ancestry.com has allowed me to go, way/ way back, especially on my wife’s side. Wow. I know @ least one blog post is percolating. Take care MJ. DM
Yes, I had a host of meetings planned in another city but I rescheduled – good thing b/c that city got 15″ of snow! There were multiple accidents and slide-offs along the route, I was happy to miss that.
Be careful out there .. not worth breaking bones or landing in the ditch for hours on end. Happy reading/learning on Ancestry.com, too – fun! Will be happy to read the percolated blog post ๐ MJ
