Spring / Slog Forward ~ 2019

It comes every year whether we like it or not: Daylight Savings Time.  We Spring Forward – turn clocks an hour ahead and experts like to claim we’ll feel like this:

And every time it has the opposite effect on me:

So today, I’ll do as I’ve learned to do ~

  • I’ll cook a few things, but not too ambitiously.
  • I’ll read a while, but not too ambitiously.
  • I’ll workout a bit, but not too ambitiously.
  • I’ll go to bed a little sooner and give myself some grace to adjust … ambitiously.

But, after the winter we’ve had/been having, anything with the word Spring in it should be embraced 🙂

Still,  I’m with Maxine on this:

  1. Daylight saving time had a purpose, I suppose, but no longer. Thank goodness the Texas legislature’s on the road to a bill that will put dispensing with it on the ballot — I think it would be next year. It’s about time — in every sense of the word!

    • Love it~ a similar bill has come up here but never gained enough traction to make it happen! I get the reasons why it was established long ago but man it’s a tough adjustment for me every year ~ I grew up where time forgot, we changed our clocks for no one. We just dealt with it. Thanks for weighing in 🙂 MJ

  2. It was sad to wake up to 8:30 this morning, knowing full well it’s only 7:30. It seems like the day is going by too fast. Being a Sunday, I want it to go by slowly. But it will be wonderful to have daylight into the evening. I won’t have to drive home in the dark after work. I may even feel like going to the store after work. My night driving is scary.
Glad we can maybe talk about Spring and temps in double digits all the time. It HAS been a long winter and we deserve a wonderful Spring and beautiful Summer… Hugs to you.

    • I hear you there, the sunlight after work will be nice .. let’s hope the temps come up with the light 🙂

I do love our long summer nights, being we are the westernmost point of the Eastern time zone here in West MI. But the spring forward still kicks my tail every dang year.

      Hugs back!
      MJ

  3. I’m a fan. I love the extra light at the end of the day. It’s still light at 9 p.m. in my area in June. I would hate if that was wasted while I was sleeping. Adjusting my own schedule wouldn’t be as effective as businesses run on whatever time is decided.

  4. Love this: I’ll go to bed a little sooner and give myself some grace to adjust

  5. I feel just like Kitty #2.
