Can’t say no

Grand-dog Sully

Grand-dog Sully is here for the weekend. He’s like having an 70lb toddler around, in/out, up/down, squeaky toy, wrestling toy, chew toy then knocked out-sleep.  I’m his favorite (I’m the cook & he’s no dummy) and while he likes hubbs he follows me ..and believes that he is a lap dog.

We were up & outside at 530, completed a yard inspection by 7:15 … at 25F. He barked at songbirds trilling – they know it’s warming up, but he missed the memo.

I’m still recovering from dental hell but laughing at him has been good therapy.

And with that, I gotta go.  I promised my little pal I’d peruse the yard with him again after this last cup of coffee … and even though he is big and grown, when I look in his eyes I still see this:

  1. Animals make you heal faster. They give off a wonderful energy.

  2. Beautiful pup!! Continued healing to you. And I echo Kate’s sentiments as well.

  3. I was home alone..just me and our lab, Libby. Decided to see if our oldest grandson Owen would be interested in hanging out with me to do a little apple tree pruning. (I said I would pay) He jumped @ the chance (he’s 6) Couple of hours later, after pruning, cleaning out some dead bees from one of the hives, playing dominos, and making lunch, I took him home..I needed my nap. 😉

Cute little grand dog…I can tell he’s full of energy.

    • .. aww that’s so cute! He sounds like a busy little helper 🙂 And yes Sully is a whirling ball of energy ~ he has already sniffed the whole yard this morning 🙂 Happy Sunday!

      • Any chance sully is named after that airplane captain? Wasn’t there a Caption Sully, who landed that plane in the river or something? 🙂 I don’t know…there is a good chance I am blending stories here

      • Good memory – you are thinking of Capt. Sully who heroically landed a plane in the Hudson River in NYC – AMAZING man and hero!
This Sully is named after the big blue (softie) monster in Monsters Inc https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsters,_Inc.

Thanks for chiming in 🙂 MJ

  4. Thankyou for the big grin!
