It’s summer in Michigan ~ we all know what that means … Spring’s sweaty sister is here for a visit. Could be long, could be short but move over, ’cause she’s sharing your space! Here are Five Random thoughts for today ~ ~
1 ) Watermelon, Cherries, Blueberries and Strawberries in season. That is all.

2 ) Humidity is regularly 80% … or more. Walks are taken before 7:00 a.m. Books are devoured outside or under the kiss of a summer fan. That is all.

3 ) Michigan is still locked in/down. Just keep living. That is all.

4 ) Speaking of lock-downs – there is a strong physical & emotional resemblance to Hubbs here. Add golf and me and it’d be bang-on. That is all.

5 ) This is just a little too true ~ and that is all!

So, what day is it, anyway? And how are you coping?
We have opened up a little yet I’m still living the same life. The only difference is that I had pizza from my favorite place which wasn’t open until yesterday!
it’s always fun when our favorites open up again! We tried a new-to-us pizza place last week, appropriately named “Fatso’s” – yum. It was great! MJ
I didn’t think there was a pizza I didn’t like but sadly I have found out in the past year that there is bad pizza.
~~ sad but true! MJ
You could have stopped at βWatermelon, Cherries, Blueberries and Strawberries in season. That is all.β Am I would have been in heaven…
Every day I’m like a fruit junkie!! The cherries are brought in from WA, our MI cherries are not quite there yet. But soon. And, in the fall, all the apples you can imagine … mmm. That is all!! π MJ
You live in Wonderland!
Indeed! Summer days of fruitful abundance make everyone forget February! ~ MJ
I wish I could loan you some of our not so humid air. That’s one of the things I love about summers here in Western Washington. Unless we have a heat wave, which is pretty rare. Life here is very quiet as I occasionally nag my son to finish up his last few hours of required English and math (his kryptonite subjects). I miss things like street fairs. And because I’ve become such a homebody, I haven’t gotten out to our local farmstands to get lots of fresh strawberries. Still working my way through some personal stuff (on my blogs). That is all. π
Thank you, I’ll take it ~ it does wax & wane. Yesterday the humidity was nearly unbearable but today it’s only about 65% so much more tolerable π
We are headed into 90F this week, typical for this time of year.
I do miss street fairs, too. Farm Markets have opened but with limits to how many can be “in” at a time. At this point I’ve not gone .. I’m not wearing a mask outside.
I’ll check out the blog ~ thanks Susan! MJ
I should have mentioned that if you want the down and dirty of what’s been going on, it’s over at Remembering My Divinity. I try to keep Life’s A Journey more upbeat. Cheers!
Hilarious picture captions (and so true)
Everyone needs that quote on the icebox right now as encouragement.
Despite the media reports, only 4 big cities in TX are on pause ( restaurants only 50%, bars closed again and mad- but too many of the younger set was partying and getting mild cases, the rivers not open for tubing, hospitals more than capable of managing what is a typical summer ICU load for them). On the outskirts here, most is open, but there’s still a mask mandate – probably a good thing as it’s a tourist area and it’s July 4th and summer.
I can identify with the hot and humid – only add in some Saharan dust cloud, too.
In any case – it could be worse! Smile on!
we are all just hanging in there ~ and at least it’s not snowing π MJ
Love your quotes! The crazy thing about this virus for me is that I only remember it exists when I am in a store and need to wear my mask. Then it becomes real. The rest of the time, I am outside or in my own home. I do miss being able to spend quality time at my local library and attend free concerts in the park. Currently the humidity in northern Colorado is 20%. Crazy, right?
Right? I am pretty much at home most of the time and am fine with it ~ I wear a mask at the store and where required. We hit 88% humidity yesterday before the skies finally buckled and gave us a howler of a rain storm – it was coming in sideways and there was steam coming off from the hot ground. Craziness ~ today it is cooler with a breeze and I am very grateful.
Bests to you, and thank you for weighing in, I love to hear from everyone! ~ MJ
