When I find simple little things that make me happy, I’ve learned to do them again and again.
I notice.
I smile.
I repeat.
Examples include:
- Saying “Good Morning” to the neighbor’s dog who waits patiently for a pet from yours truly –
- Sending 4 of these packing & working on more –
- Waking up to walk early, setting a goal, and crushing it –
- Reading a book so good it makes me sad to see it end – ooh!
- Supper simmering on a rainy summer Sunday ~ Salisbury steaks!
How about you? What are some little things make you happy? Do you notice & repeat, too?
The other day I cut a few lavender stems and a bit of rosemary, bringing them into my kitchen. They’re in little bottles that were part of a gift set of different kinds of honey, bottles that are now bud vases on my window sill. Scents and aromas really lift me up. Sometimes it’s a bright, fresh lemon squeezed into tea, sometimes sweet roses from my bush, and this time of year it’s lavender. Love your simple little things!
… ooh I bet your kitchen smells wonderful!
Yes fresh citrus, my summer favorite being fresh limes, and any clean/fresh fragrance like that. I don’t burn candles b/c Hubbs is allergic but I do love the simple scents you describe. Lovely!
