Working out & Tacos

  • Hubbs and I had big plans for this weekend.

Big plans.

  • He was going to organize the garage so I could start parking inside.

Never happened.

  • I was going to sort through benefits statements and file them away.

Never happened.

  • We were both going to work out.

Never happened…

  • But we did have tacos.

Man, I feel so accomplished! 🙂

How’s your weekend?  Any intentions get scrapped?

Monday, Monday

What a great weekend!  Stayed in with Hubbs Friday, visited Grandpa Saturday, and cozied in that night, too.   It rumbled, rained and roared most of Sunday and ~ yep, you guessed it, I stayed in then, too.

Cooked, read, cleaned and rested.

There’s nothing bad about today, I’m just not ready to let my weekend go.

You?

Why?

Last week was a good one, work-wise.  I got a lot accomplished,  and the highlight was the retirement of a long-term colleague.  8 hours in the car put me home late Friday night.  I caught up with Hubbs but soon found myself nodding off at 1o:00 p.m.  The best laid plans..

Saturday rolled in with a flurry of activities as we prepped the house for a college football-watching-party.  Gabbing with my pals, I didn’t see much of the game, but the food  and company were great. 🙂

Yesterday, I was up & at it early, buying groceries, doing laundry and cooking for the week ahead.

And here we are again, at Monday’s doorstep. I don’t know about you, but I need a day between Saturday & Sunday.

Have a great week, peeps!

Friday Monday

Need be still

Slowing down, accomplishing nothing.

On purpose.

Puttering in the kitchen to the snores of old dog.

Easy, meandering conversations.  Or none at all.

Quiet, simple, expansive moments of peace.

Would He want us to be “still” by being lazy through life’s trials and tribulations? Should we expect Him to swoop in and transport us to the mountain top?

I don’t think so. I think we have to walk with Him to get there.

And for me, walking comes by being still.

Being still comes easier on week-ends.

Being still doesn’t just mean times of quiet.

For me, it means being awake, feeling alive and staying open.

It means closing out the noise and opening up to faith.

Exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Do you make time to let your needs be still?
